  RURAL PRIESTHOOD

This project is on catholic priests in crisis and kidnapping communities in Niger state, Nigeria. It is aimed at shedding light on the challenges faced by Catholic priests in Nigeria, particularly in regions affected by conflict and kidnapping. The project seeks to document the impact of these challenges on the work and daily lives of priests, while also highlighting their bravery, resilience, and dedication to their priestly calling and their communities. Through the use of photography, the project captures the various activities of catholic priests in crisis affected regions, such as providing pastoral care, conducting mass, and engaging in community outreach initiatives. The photographs also capture the impact of violence, kidnapping, and other forms of insecurity on the priests and their communities such as displacement and trauma. This project also seeks to raise awareness about the urgent need for action to address the security challenges facing catholic priests and their communities in rural areas of Nigeria. The project provides an opportunity to showcase the bravery and resilience of these priests, Sampling FR. Jonathan Ani who continues to serve his community despite the risks and challenges.
